I [heart] MOD PODGE

I've always been... how can I put this... an appreciator of hand made crafts. The furthest I've gotten myself is the scrapbooking I've been doing since I was 14. I've come quite a long way since then. Purchasing the Cricut Expression last Christmas was the greatest thing to ever happen to my scrapbook world.

I've always appreciated crafts, purchased them off Etsy when I can, and recommended them to others. Now, I have entered the world of decoupage myself... and let me just say, everything changes from here on out.

Kristin [mostly maple], one of my best friends, has always been a decoupaging fanatic and of course, I always appreciated her work. It wasn't until recently that I got involved and now I'm ADDICTED. The very first thing I decoupaged was a "love box" for Colton & Zara's wedding shower. It was a lot of fun and very exciting as I figured out just how to do my first project. Luckily, it turned out adorable! I took an old shoe box, some scrapbook paper, and decoupaged all day long! [I made the little cards, too! Thank you, Cricut!]
Last weekend, Kristin and I started on toy bins for our daughters, who happen to be nearly 3 weeks apart. Today, I finished said toy bin, and I am so proud of it. We took some inexpensive wood bins, some adorable fabric aaaaaand.... MOD PODGE!!!Last night, in sheer boredom and needing a "fix" [haha!] I was looking around my house for things to decoupage. Suddenly, I caught glimpse of a set of very basic wooden coasters. Jackpot! In my collection of scrapbook paper, I had some all-natural fiber paper that I knew would be absolutely perfect on the coasters... so I pulled it out, grabbed a spongy brush, and went to town...
Now my boring old coasters have a little pizazz and match my living room quite well. I am pleased. :)

Expect more crafts in the future! I plan on doing Christmas ornaments soon. I'm also itching to try mosaics. Kristin and I have our eyes on an inexpensive toddler-size table & chair set at Joann that we'd like to tackle as our kiddos get older. I'm thinking it would be a great first birthday present for our girls. :)
